Rehabilitation and protection of the rice terraces:

  • Rehabilitation of the terrace walls and irrigation canals
  • Regeneration and protection of the forest areas
  • Practice of sustainable agricultural technologies
  • Strict implementation of land use policies to control encroachment of “development” into the Rice Terraces

Safeguarding of the Ifugao customs and traditions:

  • Resolution of the issue of legal tenure of the people over their ancestral lands
  • Respecting and valuing the Ifugao's way of life

Improvement of the Ifugao's quality of life:

  • Practice of indigenous farming and agro-forestry technologies with appropriate improvements to enhance productivity
  • Mobilization and harnessing of internal and external finance sources to fund social services and promote development of ecologically-sustainable enterprises
  • Promotion and support of ecological-cultural tourism which is in harmony with the environment an and indigenous culture
