Bakle’d Kiangan 2006
Julongan,
a village in the municipality of Kiangan, Ifugao, will celebrate bakle,
the culminating ritual of the rice production cycle, on August 26, 2006.
Bakle
is conducted after all the rice has been harvested, usually in July
to September. It is the time to feed the Bulul, the rice god. The
villagers pound diket, or glutinous rice to be made into rice
cake called binakle. Aside from this pig and chicken are butchered
for food to be served to the community people and visitors from all
over.
